If you've been looking at homes for sale in Reno, NV and feeling like the resale market is a scramble — you're not wrong. But there's a part of the Reno real estate market in 2026 that most buyers haven't fully explored, and it might be exactly what you've been looking for: new construction.

Right now, the biggest headline in Reno new construction is Talus Valley. Located in the Huffaker Hills area of South Reno, this community has effectively taken the baton from Damonte Ranch as the premier new-home destination in the region. Lennar is a major builder here, with homes ranging from around 1,600 to over 3,200 square feet. What makes Talus Valley stand out isn't just the houses — it's the trail systems, the views, and the focus on outdoor living that makes South Reno one of the most desirable places to call home in all of Northern Nevada.

Damonte Ranch is still going strong — and for good reason. It's a mature, established community with excellent schools, nearby amenities, and consistent resale values that hold up over time. For buyers who want South Reno without being on the cutting edge of a new phase, Damonte Ranch remains one of the best bets in Washoe County real estate.

Looking for something at a more accessible price point? The North Valleys — including Stead and Cold Springs — and East Sparks are where national builders like D.R. Horton are delivering new homes with fresh warranties and lower price tags than the South Reno luxury corridor. For buyers trying to get into the $500K–$600K range with a brand-new home, these communities deserve a serious look.

Here's what most people don't know about buying new construction: the builder's sales agent represents the builder, not you. Having an experienced Reno real estate agent in your corner when navigating new construction means you have someone looking out for your interests, your timeline, and your money — not the developer's bottom line.

I know the Northern Nevada new construction market well. I know which builders are delivering on promises, which communities have strong appreciation potential, and how to negotiate seller concessions and upgrades that most buyers leave on the table.

If new construction in Reno or Sparks is on your radar — whether that's Talus Valley, Damonte Ranch, Spanish Springs, or the North Valleys — let's talk before you walk into a builder's model. One conversation with me can save you thousands. Randi@nvballrealty.com or (775) 522-4712.
